Road test for Teen a who completed 32 hours/14 hours - Requirements to take Alternate DPS 3rd Party Road -- Must have DE 964 (Original Certificate of Driver Education Completion) -- Must have Impact Video Completion Certificate original -- Must have 30 hours log sheet (completed) -- Must have Verification of Enrollment Form (from HS) or HS Completion -- Must Current and Valid DL or permit ( Teens under 18 must hold permit for at least 6 months)
Road test for Adults 18 to 24 (6) hours ADE course grads) - Requirements to take Alternate DPS 3rd Party Road -- Must have DE 964 (Original Certificate of Driver Education Completion) -- Must have Impact Video Completion Certificate original -- Must Current and Valid DL or permit
Road Test Requirements: You will be graded on your ability to demonstrate the following maneuvers: parallel parking, backing in a straight line, approaching intersections, turning, stopping in regular traffic conditions, controlling the vehicle, observing traffic, maintaining vehicle position (turning, stopping, etc.), and using signals.
COPS Evaluation C- Control (starts, stops, steering and speed) O - Observation (focus, attentiveness, alert, etc) P - Positioning ( lane, parking, space positions) S - Signaling ( not too late, soon or not at all)
(4) ways to Fail the Road Test -1. Too many points deductions (more than 30 points off) -2. A dangerous act ( any act or action that present a threat or possible crash) - 3. Violation or breaking a law - 4. Involved in a crash
Individuals over the age of 25 are allowed to be tested by TPST authorized schools.
